What I don't understand is :don't Know"....if JSO was talking with this guy, who was inside the house...and the swat team had the place surrounded...how did he leave? Or was he chatting on a cell phone, saying he was inside and wasn't?

Rolling in with heavy armor, JSO's SWAT team responded to a callout at a home on East 23rd St. After four and a half hours of negotiating, they learned their suspect was not inside. 31 year old Charles Prindle was on the loose.
"We did have some dialogue with him via phone, possibly cell phone on his end, but once the dialogue cut off and we managed to go inside we found no one there on the inside," says PIO Ken Jefferson with JSO.
This incident actually stemmed from an earlier situation Sunday morning. Police say Prindle had abducted his ex-girlfriend by gunpoint from her home at the Lincoln Court Apartments. Investigators say he then brought her to the house on E. 23rd where they believe he beat her and sexually assaulted her.
"Charles Prindle right now is a wanted man. We do consider him to be an armed and dangerous person," says Jefferson.
Tear gas was deployed and SWAT went in, but Prindle was not inside. Police now need your help in order to keep him on a short leash and then hopefully behind bars.
"Anyone having any knowledge of his whereabouts or know where he likes to hang out or where he may be hiding out, we are asking for the community's help to get him off the street," says Jefferson.
