Clearly, age means nothing when it comes to committing a felony. People need to wake up and see that they're starting younger and that it's not just minor criminal acts that they're involved in.
He's only an 11-year-old and he’s already charged with a felony. Jacksonville police say the local child, along with several other kids, broke into a neighborhood elementary school. The accused burglars say that it actually wasn't that hard get inside.

Police arrived at Annie R. Morgan Elementary on the Westside around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning after a silent alarm had been tripped. Soon officers spotted the young suspects darting throughout the halls try to get away. Minutes later the police had rounded up all six of them.

Melissa Bujeda, a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) spokesperson, told us “They took digital cameras, lap top computer bags, candy, radios…”

The oldest of the accused was nineteen-years-old. The only Annie R. Morgan student in the bunch was the 11-year-old. JSO believes the suspects got into the Westside of the building by just opening the door. Suspects told JSO detectives that the word on the street was that the school was unlocked and they could get in, so they tried it. And according to police, they walked right in.

The attempted burglary had the school district checking locks at the school Monday. Jill Johnson, of the Duval County School District, told us that the school was “coded out”. Johnson explained “[Coded out] is our term for making sure all of the doors are shut…so the school was coded out prior to the having school on Saturday.” Even the school district admits that doesn't mean every door to the school was secured. Johnson added, “There may have been a door that didn't latch properly.”

Luckily, everything that was taken has been returned. The suspects now face felony burglary charges. As for the 11-year-old Annie R. Morgan student faces, he is also facing a 10-day suspension.

We're told every Duval County District school has an alarm like the one that went off at Annie Morgan Elementary, so the district says they don't see a lot of these school break-ins. After some investigating, we found out there has been a break-in at Annie R. Morgan Elementary before, but that was years ago.
