As of the close of business on yesterday. Congresswoman Brown is the only member of our local congressional delegation that is without opposition.:drinks:

I'm glad you think so. I however, feel it's time for someone else

She's such a bastion of ethics in DC. Perhaps we should solicit her input for new ethics guidelines for the city.

That seat is hers for life. Or until she's ready to give it up. The Florida Third is gerrymandered to perfection. That said, she does know how to bring home the bacon.
Congrats, Congresswoman Brown! Re-elected without even having to raise a finger.

Question. Isn't Rep Brown close to Eric Green? He's the one under investigation by the FBI, right?

Yeah....remember the whole ITERA investigation by the FBI....and how supportive she was of them (ITERA, that is).

EDIT: From wiki - an article talking about Capital staff editing wiki bios of Congressional members that prompted an investigatgion:
Edits categorized by IP
While the identity of these IPs are not known, a small sample of edits from Capitol IPs shows both helpful and harmful edits.

I have heard shady things going on still with Itera. The talk is it is still just a empty shell to get money out of Russia. A friend was hired there last year. She spent two weeks sitting in an office with nothing to do and finally was told to go to a reception at the P.V.B. mansion. While there she realized she was hired to "entertain" visiting Russians men.
Also the Bar Tera Nova is associated and Itera just pours money in as a way of washing it.
Interesting concept.................

Corrine Brown delivers?
The "punchline" perhaps. She is one of the biggest JOKES on the Hill!
She is, IMHO, all loud mouth and attitude. Personally, I can't stand the woman.
And...if District 3 wasn't redrawn to look like a gigantic "snake", she'd never have been elected in the first place.

does she deliver? In particular what does she deliver that would not be delivered no matter who was in that seat?
Just wondering. I really don't recall anything.

Money for the skyway...all the money for the new Fuller Warren Bridge project to name two. The Fuller Warren money was the big one.

Longevity actually is an asset. When the Democrats are in the majority, she is the chair of an important transportation subcommittee. And when the Republic party is in control, her status as ranking member is helpful to our area.
A new congresscritter wouldn't have the connections, the seniority, or the outright gall that she possesses. So... take that for what you will.
All of that said, this is another good place to plug the Fair Districts Florida organization, for obvious reasons. http://www.fairdistrictsflorida.org/

I think Corrinne represents lost potential. She's been there for umpteen-thousand years, yet her districts are the worse in the state. My cousins in Orlando think she is useless.
I think that she should be utilizing her potential as one of the longest tenured congresspeople to inspire, yet I think she is surrounded by fools who don't know how to utilize her for good.
Unfortunately the bacon is all the people get in that district. By the time they get it, its already fried to a crisp. She should be bringing home the entire hog.

MarriedBro,
I don't think I've ever heard it put any better. Corrine Brown could have done so much for her district, particularly now that her party is in power. She brings home the pork, yes, but can anyone show me where it has materially benefited the consituents in her district?

Yes, South Carolina knew this and kept Senator Strom Thurmond in Washington way past his natural prime.
His young "wives" helped the situation but a Florida Industry helped the most.
His last years in the Senate it is said he was dead still except when the TV lights came on and then he was very animated.
Of course that last rebuild from Sally Industries added more solar power cells for that added extra vigor. :)

Well, I appreciated Corrine's support at the Democractic National Committee Headquarters Washington DC rally for Count Our Vote. Both Corrine and Rep Debbie Wasserman Schultz from South FL, took the time to speak to disenfranchised Florida voters. Over 10 buses carried Florida voters requesting that Florida be included in the presidential election process. At least she listened to us.

I'm also glad that she took the stand for us!
