Shuler's resturant and pub is not a local place, but it IS a "famous" one located in Marshall, Michigan. We had their signature prime rib for lunch today on our way to Lansing.

If ANY of you EVER are traveling on I96 in Michigan near Lansing, you GOTTA try Shuler's!
It has been in business for over 100 YEARS and is still family owned and operated by the founder's decendants. The food is absolutely SUPERB and the SERVICE IS TOP SHELF!
Prices? Not too bad for what you get. We had the lunch prime rib cuts and we couldn't eat it all. $16.95 per plate. They serve you their FAMOUS IN HOUSE MADE CHEESE with crispy bread sticks, no charge. The ambiance is WONDERFUL! The place is an historic building and is decorated with thousands of Shuler family photos and awards. The beams in the ceiling have famous quotes in 3 or 4 inch gold lettering by many famous people.
One Quote, (Ben Franklin I think), was "There has never been anything that could defeat the truth". ANother was, "A poor man's skill is his wealth"..Shuler, founder circa 1904.
There are dozens of these beams with the quotes all over the building.
Comfortable seating, great tables, authentic everything. An experience just to go there, the food will make it a memory that will last you a lifetime!

While your up north way...stop at ANY "Culver's"...the BEST FROZEN CUSTARD you'll EVER HAVE!!! Oh...Oh...I must not forget, SKYLINE CHILI!!! Get the "5 way"...it's a huge meal and the BEST you'll ever eat!!!

So many places to eat, so little time....LOL
