Perhaps he should spend his money paying his HOA fees and huge mortgage, instead of blowing it on the University Club.

....appears to be living above his means.

That alone leads me to question his ability to manage the financial end of the PDs office.

Yeah... it's not a good way for the "fiscally conservative" candidate to enter the world.

What an unmitigated joke. And yes, an insult to the voters.

I did, Blacksheep......I tied his personal financial issues to question his ability to manage the financial end of the PDs Office.

I am sure, that is one of Shirk's big selling points. I go to church!

no more of an insult then when you thought you were qualified to run for city council. I guess all other young people that run for political office are just an insult. Guess Daniel Davis was an insult. He hadn't done a whole lot of anything when he ran. Just had ideas. Oh, and I guess Clay Yarborough was an insult to the voters. He just had ideas and was very young and done nothing in a career at that point. I could keep going, but I think you get my point.

Not sure I follow you there, Fred. jimmy's point was that Shirk is portraying himself as a fiscal conservative who would run the PD Office with fiscal responsibility - yet he has a history of personal fiscal responsibility issues.

The piece you quoted said nothing about inexperience, just the dichotomy of Shirk's campaign rhetoric and his personal experience.

What ARE the qualification to run for City Council?

This is why I like the SAO and the PDO race so much better, because it would seem to be so much more clear as to who is more qualified since they are professional-type positions as opposed to vague jobs like City Councilperson.

BTW, if there were real qualifications for City Council, I would think that he would have more quals than some of the people who got there because their parents run a janitor service.
